LiesSynopsis:

WHAT IF YOUR WHOLE LIFE WAS BASED ON LIES?
When Joe Lynch stumbles across his wife driving into a hotel car park while she’s supposed to be at work, he’s intrigued enough to follow her in.

And when he witnesses her in an angry altercation with family friend Ben, he knows he ought to intervene.

But just as the confrontation between the two men turns violent, and Ben is knocked unconscious, Joe’s young son has an asthma attack – and Joe must flee in order to help him.

When he returns, desperate to make sure Ben is OK, Joe is horrified to find that Ben has disappeared.

And that’s when Joe receives the first message . . .

My Review:

For all my fellow mystery and thriller fans out there, this book does not disappoint. A

vividly fast-paced story quickly takes you from Joe’s quaint perfect life through a few weeks of complete disaster and life-changing experiences.

It revolves around Joe going slightly off course from his normal every day routine of taking his son home when they see his wife’s car pulling into an underground parking lot at a hotel. Joe follows her in only to see her have a dispute with a friend of their’s, Ben.

One of the things that I loved most about this entire story was how quickly it moved through events and details, without sacrificing any part of the story. You are captivated by the maniacal behaviors of Joe’s attacker, as well as hanging onto your seat trying to figure out just what’s going to happen next.

There are too many opportunities for spoilers in this book so I have to be really careful what I say, but the creation of each character in this story brings relevant information and tension as the book progresses through each day. Joe is baffled to find his entire life has been turned upside down and he no longer really knows who any one in his life is anymore, because of all the LIES that keep piling up.

I highly recommend picking up this book if you are travelling and want a companion read that will keep you engaged and guessing or if you’re looking for a fun weekend read to pair with a few cocktails. You’re sure to enjoy the quick story and guessing game that continues all the way to the bitter end!
