Books Set in Winter

🎀☕ 𝕎𝕖𝕕𝕟𝕖𝕤𝕕𝕒𝕪 𝔻𝕖𝕔𝕖𝕞𝕓𝕖𝕣 𝟜𝕥𝕙☕🎀

With it being winter, I can’t help but to bring out my Winternight Trilogy series. It’s one of those important book series that I hold close to my heart with everything I have. My copy of The Bear and the Nightingale (first book in the trilogy) has seen battle. The battle of surviving two toddlers who loved to chew on the back cover, top-left corner (it’s missing). But I still keep that copy specifically because of the memories it evokes for me with my own family and the memories of the first time I read that book.

I remember when I first acquired it a few years ago. I needed a mom break from being with my three kids all the time, and the stress of some things going on in my life at the time, so I decided to take a refreshing trip to Barnes & Noble. It was the only quiet place I could think of that always made me happy. I was wandering the aisles of the store when I saw this gorgeous blue and wintry covered book sitting out on display at the end of the YA Fantasy section. I picked it up, thumbed through it and took it home.

It was the best ever “mom day” I had taken because that book was exactly what I needed for personal reflection, development and focus in my trying times as being a mother. Finding that book when and where I did was exactly what I needed in my life at that time and it wasn’t much longer after that when I started this wonderful journey of Bookstagram, Blogging and Reviewing.

Winter of the Witch (featured below) is the final installment of the trilogy and concludes the adventures of Vasya and Morozco. Their love story, their pain and their growth always amazes me in this series. For me, it will always be my go-to winter series that reminds me of all the important things in life.

I may have to try and re-read this series after Christmas; sometime in January. There is a lot of family activity going on the next few weeks so I just don’t think I will get to it until then.
