Cherry Grove
By Leaona Luxx
This story opens with a dramatic entrance of both characters that immediately captivates you into the depth of Lea’s sorrow and pulls you kicking and screaming through the rest of the story. I absolutely love it when a writer grabs me at the very beginning by utilizing intense emotions and experience to create the found in if a character that you may not only relate with, but NEED to know how their story ends.
I would have to say I went into this book with no preconceived notions as I received this is a Christmas gift from my mother. I added it to my February TBR to go along with my romance/Valentine’s theme for the month. As soon as I read the opening chapter I was drawn into Lea’s experience like no other book had done to me before.
For romance fans, you definitely will not be disappointed by the intense love making it the immediate love the characters feel for one another. As a romance fan, these elements are the ones that keep me engaged in a well written novel.
The only thing that kept me from giving this book a 5-Star rating was that the dramatic undertones of the plot seemed to drag in quite a bit through the second half of the story with a very short lived conclusion. While it was relevant and well written, the plot twists sometimes felt annoying because it distracted and perpetuated their relationship issues. Now, these are good elements for writing a dramatic story, but when it keeps happening over and over that can be frustrating to a reader.
Overall though, I did love this story and look forward to reading the rest of this series!
