When I first started getting into book blogging, Instagram and the fun world of the book community, I started to notice these things called book sleeves. I didn’t quite understand their importance or really even what they were.
They look really cool; bright, flashy fabrics and what not. But what are they for?
If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, don’t worry, a year ago I wouldn’t have either.
Book sleeves are these specially designed and sewed together fabric “bags” for putting a book into. Now I want to show you what they are and why I think they’re an essential piece for every book owner to have.
Protects Your Books
If you’ve ever carried a book to work, school or anywhere really, you might have noticed that they are more prone to damage. I’ve snagged covers, bent pages, and smudged covers when taking then to and from work. When you out your book in one of these sleeves, they are safe and snug from everyday dangers.
Display Your Style
Book sleeves come in so many varieties, that you can find just about any design you might desire. But don’t worry, if you can’t, most businesses will custom make you a design if you let them know what you’re looking for. Pair a plaid book sleeve with your outfit, choose a Harry Potter design to show off your fandom, or even a lovely coffee themed one, like the one I have!
Cost Effective
Most book sleeves range between $10-$20 and come in a few different sizes. Perfect for small paperbacks all the way up to large hard cover books. Whatever you might need, you should be able to find what you’re looking for.
As you can tell, I’ve got a new found appreciation for these wonderful little creations.
Where can I get these fantastic littles gems? You might be asking yourself this question and I have an answer for you!
