My Review:
It’s really not all that often that I read an MC romance novel. Usually it’s not my preferred cup of coffee even if I do love the bad boy types. But when I saw the description for Skirt and then I saw the picture of the resigned man with his sword, I couldn’t help myself. I jumped at the chance to read this one.
…and this book did not disappoint me…
Skirt is actually the fifth book in the Ruthless Kings MC series and after reading this one, I will be backtracking and reading them all up to this point as there are more planned to come out.
What do picture when you think about a motorcycle club member?
Big burly guys? Tattoos? Penchant for a bad attitude? I know that’s what I always picture. But Skirt (Rohan) is so different. Yes – he’s a bad ass fighter and knows how to handle himself. Yes he loves a good fight and will protect his brothers to no end. But he’s also bashful and incredibly sweet. He has these adorable little quirks about him that I was totally unprepared for. His life has been hard and he never thought he would have anything all that great in his life, but life has a way of giving you back what you deserve ten-fold.
Let’s not forget about the sexiness of a kilt…
He also happens to be Scottish and wears the traditional skirt and occasionally has his sword strapped to his hip. Even in Las Vegas of all places. Savage continued to surprise me with her ability to create such a unique character in Skirt and I instantly fell in love with him.
His main squeeze Dawn is a strong woman, too. She has endured some atrocious experiences that would normally break a person before it was even over. Yet she’s a survivor and watching her develop from a scared and damaged woman into a formidable fighter herself, had my heart-pounding at times and tears threatening my eyes regularly.
Give this MC romance a chance, you will want more of the Ruthless Kings!
Like I said, MC romances aren’t my immediate go-to but anyone that wants to explore this sub genre or already loves it, definitely needs to check out Skirt as well as the entire series. This is one where you can get completely lost in the characters, the Ruthless Kings world, and learn things about yourself you didn’t even know you’d be into. Voyeurism, anyone?
