Author Interview: Brianna Hale

Latest Release – Rush

Released April 21, 2021

Rush Osman probably watches himself in the mirror while he screws and kisses his biceps good morning. An arrogant, domineering, over-dressed rock star. The sort of man I’ve had my fill of for a hundred lifetimes.

And yet.

Rush has an energy about him that pulls me in. Captivating energy. Dark, magnetic energy. Big Daddy energy.

I feel it crackling between us every time I’m close to him. Now, my only choice is to get far, far away from him, or be pulled into a world that I swore I’d never set foot in again. A world that thrashed me, body and soul.

A world that Rush promises to protect me from, if only I surrender myself to him.

I’ve only ever trusted myself, but Rush is battering against my defenses. He pushes me to the brink and then holds me there until I shatter. His punishment is a rush. Falling for him is a rush. Loving him is a rush.

But being destroyed by him is the biggest rush of all.

Author’s note: this is a full-length daddy kink romance with no cheating or sharing. Rush is one possessive and jealous alpha!

Interview Questions

Brianna is one of my absolute favorite “daddy kink” authors and does an amazing job of portraying the lifestyle in an accurate and tantalizing way. She also writes most of these from a unique perspective surrounding characters that are just coming into an awareness of this form of kink and are exploring and finding themselves in it.

She is well known in the reading community and her fans can be found around the world. I’m very excited to have a chance to ask her a few questions and get to know her a little more. Join me as we chat along with Brianna Hale!

Q: Let’s get started with an introduction. Can you tell me a little about how you first got into writing and what it felt like publishing your very first book?

A: I started writing fanfic at fourteen and I haven’t stopped loving telling stories since! Writing LITTLE DANCER was one of my best writing experiences and I had so much fun telling Abby and Rufus’ story. Seeing it out in the world and getting messages from readers about it is so much fun even now.

Q: Along with getting to know you a little more, what would you say are some of your favorite hobbies besides reading and travelling?

A: I love playing video games and I take ballet classes! It used to be figure skating before COVID shut all the rinks down, but I like ballet better now. I used to dance as a child and I love it. A lot of my heroines are creative or dancers and I love living in that world and writing about it.

Q: What are some of your favorite authors to read when you have the down time?

A: I love reading dark, age gap and taboo books so Danielle James, Sheridan Anne, Tate James, QB Tyler, Anna Zaires.

Q: Can you tell me a little bit about your writing process? Note taking; favorite place to write uninterrupted; etc?

A: I AM SO DISORGANISED. I have notes in notebooks, on my phone, in word docs. I’m a pantser so I get an idea for a hero, a heroine and a setting and I just dive right in. Sometimes I’ll come across a note for a VERY IMPORTANT plot bunner two weeks later and the book has gone in a completely different direction. I write listening to storm or river sounds or a specific playlist for a book or a set of chapters. That song forever belongs to those characters after that!

Q: Which one of your books was your most favorite to write?

A: All of them! They’re all a pleasure and I love them so much. Some were harder than others and needed more rewrites, like RUSH, but he was still wonderful to write.

Q: Which one of your books do you wish you could revisit and write more about?

A: I always find myself rereading CONTROL FREAK and THE PROTEGE. Those daddies are so comforting!

Q: You recently announced a joint project with Lylah James that’s coming soon. You’ve done anthologies before, but what’s different about this project and do you find it difficult at all trying to collaborate?

A: Collaborating is so much fun! We have so many ideas flying around that we bounce off each other and it’s so exciting reading each other’s chapters as we go. I’ve never co-authored a book before and neither has Lylah so we’re learning as we go.

Q: Rush is your latest release and was very well received. I loved the artsy dynamic between these two. Like watching a painting unfold. What is your favorite scene or quote from that story?

A: The dirty scene in the back of his car haha! “Daddy missed you.” I love you, Rush.

Q: You also recently announced a new steamy mafia pen name, Lilith Vincent, with a new series kicking off with First Comes Blood on July 21st. What would you say your readers can expect from this new series?

A: Oooh I’m so excited about this! Readers can expect a lot of drama, sexytimes and darkness, a virgin heroine who is waaaay out of her depth and four super hot OTT possessive guys. Chiara is a sweet and sheltered heroine, but she learns to hold these men’s hearts in her hands and grows so much over the series.

Q: You have a lot of big projects coming down the pipeline and we all know that it can easily burn a writer out. What do you do for down time inbetween finishing books?

A: I listen to my body and take time off when I need to. Sometimes I’ll just get a feeling in the morning that today is not a writing day and I’ll go out or play video games and switch off. A proper holiday would be amazing one day soon though!

Thank you so much for being with me today, I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions and help me and your other readers get to know you a little bit better!

Thank you so much for having me! ❤
