MY REVIEW:

Elizabeth Camden is a brand new author for me, even though she’s been writing historical romance for quite some time. I was impressed with her writing style and story telling that really focuses on the core of who people are.
Firstly, the setting is in New York during the year 1913 (leading into World War I). New York is a bustling place with lots of activity, including the continued migration of peoples from all over Europe and elsewhere into the North East. The main characters consist of Katherine and Jonathan. Katherine is a dentist who works a late shift at a dental practice that is focused on breaking some barriers. They employ women, people of color, and are open long and late hours so everyone has an opportunity to get in and have their teeth taken care of.
Jonathan is a night shift police officer and for the last two years has made it a point to meet Katherine when she gets off work to walk her home safely. A slowly, budding relationship is developing between them that is shattered when crime steps in the middle. There are a series of bombings that have everyone on edge and Katherine has some information from a patient that could helpful. But it puts her in dangers way.
A wonderful story about 1913 New York and a cast of characters all trying to determine who they are and who they want to be. Katherine and Jonathan were absolutely adorable in their courtship and their development as individuals throughout the story. The bombing investigation was fascinating and I learned a lot of things that I never knew! I am looking forward to reading more from Elizabeth Camden and continuing the Women of Midtown series!
