MY REVIEW:
This book really messed with my mind (in a good way)!
It was so fast paced without a whole lot happening. It mostly focuses on a wedding party that a bride and groom are having – together – at the haunted hotel from The Shining – The Stanley Hotel:
Once here, everything starts to pick up and quickly there is a dead body. Thankfully, one of the party guests had invited her friend who is also an FBI Agent and starts investigating everyone at the hotel very quickly.
The characters were well rounded and the story left me questioning who was really who. There are a lot of things in here that make you look one direction, only to be completely taken by surprise and unsure of yourself whether you have all the information straight.
Told mostly from the perspective of the agent and following all the evidence as she unravels it, with a few chapters told from the Bride’s perspective a well; it lays out a nice feel for everything and keeps you engaged all the way through.
I love how L. R. Jones always makes me question my own reasoning!
