A story that reaches deep into the psyche and will challenge your stomach a little at the same time. This story follows a team of ethics investigators who are looking into accusations of high profile celebrities partaking in parties where there might be under aged grooming taking place. As the plot goes along, it dives deep into the processes and realities of these horrendous crimes and the team is really shook up in the process.
If, on the other hand, one of the so-called star talent had been named, then the big honchos would do their utmost to create a fog of silence, even going so far as to put out counter-rumours if necessary. Staff would be ordered to be silent and threatened with dismissal if they stepped out of line.
Fog of Silence, SJ Richards
Filled with interesting characters like the goofy young Josh who brings humor to a very difficult situation and Sam who is a strong female supporting character that is faced with her own set of personal issues throughout the story. I loved how well this story flowed and the careful way that Richards presented a topic that is really hard to stomach.
Richards was a new to me author and after reading this story, I know I want to read more of his work!

Ex-DCI Luke Sackville is asked to investigate celebrity parties by a whistleblower at GNE, a global news and entertainment company. Two of his Ethics Team go undercover and piece together a frightening picture of depravity and wickedness.
Luke is shocked to discover that celebrities are using their fame to exploit and abuse fans. He takes the evidence to GNE’s executive management but they refuse to take action.
Little does he know that what they have uncovered is only the tip of the iceberg. A serial killer is taking advantage of the culture of secrecy and no one is safe.
Fog of Silence is the third gripping instalment in the Luke Sackville crime series. If you like a team you can root for, you’ll love this page-turner. Perfect for fans of JD Kirk, LJ Ross, JM Dalgleish, David J Gatward and Alex Smith.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Let’s get one thing straight: my name’s Steve. I’ve never been called ‘SJ’ but Steve Richards is a political writer hence the pen name.
I was born in Bath and have lived at various times on an irregular clockwise circle around England. After university in Manchester my wife and I settled in Macclesfield before moving to Bedfordshire then a few years ago back to Somerset. We now live in Croscombe, a lovely village just outside Wells, with our 2 sprightly cocker spaniels.
I’ve always loved writing but have only really had the time to indulge myself since taking early retirement. My daughter is a brilliant author (I’m not biased of course) which is both an inspiration and – because she’s so good – a challenge. After a few experiments, and a couple of completed but unsatisfactory and never published novels, I decided to write a crime fiction series as it’s one of the genres I most enjoy.
