Book Review: Cold Hearted by Leia Stone & Julie Hall

This was an incredible journey for an amazingly strong female character and her counterpart. Her entire mission is to travel to the dark realms and find an evil lord in this world to kill. Her kind is cursed and needs this heart, and it’s ensuing magic, to keep her kingdom functioning. But she’s faced with so many trials on her journey, that nothing seems to make any sense to her anymore.

What I loved the MOST about this book, was how strong the character Dawn was. She was confident, had the strength and power to protect herself, but was also a caring individual that allowed others to help her. She wasn’t bogged down by any real character flaws, so in that sense she was a little too perfect. But what she did have to contend with was the discomfort of not knowing everything there was to know about why her kingdom and the realm was under a curse in the first place.

This was the driving force of the story and what brings the characters together in a camaraderie that evolves all of the characters. Filled with inspirational words and characters that were easy to love, this was a great read and I can’t wait for more in the series!

While it’s part of a series, each book is going to be a stand alone where the HEA comes to completion for the main characters and you do not have to wait on any cliff hangers.
