MY REVIEW:

Genre | Tropes: Romance, Contemporary, French Vineyards, Billionaire

Rating: 5 out of 5 ⭐

Vicki Hilton does it again and this time it’s even sweeter than her other reads! I’ve always said this about Vicki’s books, but she does an amazing job of combining humor and romance in a way that just works so perfectly! Luc is a billionaire vineyard owner, but also the biggest cinnamon roll character you can find. He puts on a tough-guy exterior for the public but he’s just super sweet and mushy inside. A real sensitive type that wants to find love. Iris is a smart young woman that’s trying to find her confidence again after a terrible relationship that keeps lingering in her rearview mirror. So she escapes off to Europe for a trip in France working as a hand on this vineyard.

But lo and behold the arrival of Luc as he returns to his land because of an agreement that has him worrying about the future of the vineyard. Their initial meeting at the pool is laugh out loud hilarious, as well as many more moments after this. I will always grab Vicki’s new releases because her books just make me feel so happy inside. The laughable moments that could actually happen to any one of us always has me feeling like I’m reading something real, not just a fantasy story with knights in shining armor, but something I can totally relate to with my own misgivings of tripping over things and embarrassing myself to no end.

These two characters have great chemistry and there’s really not too much angst, so the entire story is warm and cozy and just made me feel happy inside. I would love to see a spin off with Iris’ best friend Chloe, so maybe there will be something down the line with her for a happily ever after.

Highly recommend this adorable romantic comedy if you’re looking for something a little on the funny side with a lot of warmth to go around!

Note: This is an open door romance with a few explicit scenes.

Travelling the world with her best friend was supposed to erase Iris Hawthorne’s cheating ex from memory. But running out of money and discovering he’s holding her cat hostage wasn’t part of the plan.

Desperate to get home, she takes a job grape picking in Provence. But instead of indulging in brie and baguettes, she unexpectedly plunges into the pool of Luc Du Comtois, a grumpy billionaire with a killer pout and a wayward dog.

Luc, her accidental swim buddy, needs a fiancée to save his family estate, and Iris needs cash to free her fur baby. It sounds like the perfect solution. The ideal business transaction. Their fake engagement is meant to be a temporary fix, but the more time Iris spends with Luc, the harder it becomes to remember their fairy tale is just pretend.

How can she keep her heart out of the equation when she’s falling for the King of Smoulder?

Under the burn of the scorching summer sun, can Iris trust this aloof billionaire with her heart, or will his family’s expectations and her own doubts turn their fairy tale ending into a continental catastrophe?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Vicki Hilton

Writing about love, passion and all things tingly has always been a dream for me.

Originally from rural England, I now live in Sydney’s glorious Northern Beaches, where I’m steadily gathering freckles and dipping my toes into the ocean for inspiration.

With a focus on smart, quirky heroines and sensitive, sexy heroes, I create steamy, slow burn, contemporary romance. Always on the funny side, with a nice touch of spice.

I’m a devoted wife, mother of one beautiful daughter, a wrangler of assorted animals, and a lover of Skittles.

It’s a mix made in heaven.
