Heir of Sin is a new fantasy release from C. L. Qvam, author of the Spindle of Life series, that features a young woman in a cottage core setting that is orphaned, outcast and trying to find her way back. This is a new platform for Qvam exploring more explicit content than her previous books.
The main character, Keira, whose family had been a prominent fixture in this small village until her mother and father were killed, finds herself on her own. This left her with no one except to be in the care of the family that took over. She is raised as a house servant and hopes to marry the son of the family that has been caring for her. But nothing really goes the way she plans.
After a traumatizing ordeal where she is caught in a less than appropriate situation, she is ostracized by the entire community. But she finds a lamp, that she believes hold a djinn, and releases him in hopes of using the wish to correct all the wrongs done to her. But she gets a little more than she bargained for. As Elijah, the djinn, is a temptingly delicious distraction from the woes in her life. Plus he shows a level of respect and support for her that she’s never experienced. This dynamic provides the foundation for her to really bloom and unfold in a way that she never knew existed.
This book includes lots of explicit content and is really a homage to women across the world that it’s ok to explore themselves in a grown up manner. Not allowing prejudice and out of date expectations to guide them in their own personal quest for understanding what they like. Elijah is a teacher for her, but also someone that takes the greatest care with her not only physically but emotionally as well.
It’s a wonderful journey, with plenty of plot points that really carry so well through the entire thing. There are various revelations that take place as well with the fantasy elements and the history of the djinn as well as Keira’s own family history.
This is the first book in a new series that explores the FALLEN SINS. Coming out September 19th everywhere!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

C. L. Qvam
C. L. Qvam has been lost and found on several occasions, and this time she’s been found by you!
Drawn to everything British and lore infused stories that explore the morally grey, Chase moved across the pond at a young age to write the story in her heart. Since then, the mixed-race Norwegian author has identified as an English rose and defies the barriers of her first language and dyslexia to write in her preferred language on the daily.
While pieces of it have also been built and drafted all over the world, Chase is now putting the finishing touches on her first trilogy back home in Norway, living with a very patient boyfriend and furbaby.
When she’s not writing, she spends her time illustrating the stories in her head, recovering from a rough start at life, and checking her email for letters from excited readers.
