Introduction
Yvette has loved reading and writing since she was a child. Because she’s a visual type, she’s also very interested in other forms of art such as; cinematography and fine art, not just literature. And since she has also studied music, which is one of her favourites as well.
Among these, cinematography ranks first, and she likes actors who are also fascinated by the magical world of the arts. Keanu Reeves belongs to this group of actors. So, it was obvious that her first book would be about Keanu Reeves.

Interview with Yvette Kulik
Q: Let’s get started with an introduction. Can you tell me a little about how you first got into writing and what it felt like publishing your very first book?
A: My father was a journalist, so writing was never foreign to me. At first, I wrote articles about films, actors, and directors, and I also participated in film festivals. Later, I felt that I would like to write a book.
Q: What was the experience like writing about Keanu Reeves? What prompted you to write this book and compilation?
A: My favorite actor is Keanu Reeves, who I believe is much more talented and versatile than people realize. He is at home in many different fields of art, and I try to emphasize this in my book.
Q: What are some of your favorite hobbies (other than writing)?
A: I also love different forms of art. Apart from literature, I am especially passionate about cinematography and music. I studied piano and singing for several years, and I still enjoy playing the piano when time allows.
Q: What is your favorite strange food combination?
A: I don’t really eat unusual food combinations. I prefer tasty and healthy meals, especially Hungarian food. My favorite dish is the delicious stuffed cabbage.
Q: If you were to ask your friends or family, what would they say your greatest “Superpower” is?
A: Curiosity and stubbornness—if we can call them superpowers—are the qualities that drive me forward in life.
Q: If you could be any fictional character (cartoon, movie, show, book, etc), who would you be?
A: I would love to be in a film or theater production starring Keanu Reeves. Since William Shakespeare is a favorite of ours, it would be fantastic to perform with him in a Shakespearean drama.

Q: Can you tell me a little bit about your writing process? Note taking; favorite place to write uninterrupted; etc?
A: It is important for me to get to know the person I am writing about as thoroughly as possible. The writing process is always preceded by an extensive research period, which can last for years. Once I have gathered the information and have the structure of the book in mind, I begin writing.
Q: What advice would you give to a new writer just starting out?
A: I think it is important for a writer to write about a subject that is both personal and interesting to them. Perseverance is also crucial. Many people start a book but don’t finish it due to various difficulties. Once you start something, it’s important to see it through to the end.
Q: You have 50 words or less to convince an audience why they should read your books. Go!
A: When we talk about Keanu Reeves, we are talking about a versatile artist. As well as film, he is at home in literature, music, visual arts and martial arts. In my book, I try to show some connections between Keanu’s work and certain artistic disciplines. This book is full of information and interviews’ quotes – which make the actor more understandable for us.

I have loved reading and writing since I was a child. Because I’m a visual type, I’m also very interested in other forms of art such as; cinematography and fine art, not just literature. I have also studied music, which is one of my favourites as well.
Among these, cinematography ranks first, and I like actors who are also fascinated by the magical world of the arts. Keanu Reeves belongs to this group of actors. So, it was no surprise that my first book would be about Keanu Reeves.
I was born in the city Košice, in former Czechoslovakia. I grew up there and obtained a MSc degree. Later in 2001 I moved to Budapest to teach informatics at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. My love of movies and writing led me to studying journalism and became a member of the Association of Hungarian Journalists (MÚOSZ), and a few years in 2010s I worked as a journalist for some online culture magazines in Hungarian.
That is when a new era began, full of colourful adventures. My contributions to these magazines were articles and reports focusing on international film festivals and various movies. Doing interviews allowed me to meet well-known people from the world of cinematography. That time I started writing short articles in English as well.
My adventure period turned into Magic when I first met Keanu Reeves during the filming of 47 Ronin in Budapest, spring of 2011. I introduced myself and I mentioned that I wanted to write a book about him. He was a little bit surprised but probably didn’t believe me. But when I explained that I would not write anything about his private life, only professional things, he got serious and appreciated it. So, as I promised I completed my book Keanu Reeves’ Art & Speed The Matrix’ Hero, Wins Over New Dimensions, which is full of information.
And what am I doing in my free time? I like nature, wandering in the mountains, I like to enjoy the sun on the beach and to take a dip in the foamy sea. And in Hungary? Lake Balaton is my favourite, of course. I love to cook, try new recipes from the internet, and then enjoy the delicious food with my friends over delicious wine.
