What a wild and fun book three this was! Following Randi the she-wolf around for the last year as these books release has been so much fun. La Vida Loba is part of a series and you have to read them in order to stay up on what’s happening. So if you love paranormal thrillers that feature a she-wolf as well as lots of other monster mash-ups, get started in this series NOW:
Alright, so now onto what I loved about this particular book. As I’ve said already, this series follows Randi who was turned into a cursed she-wolf in book 1. That’s not a spoiler as you’re told this in the books synopsis. But what you might not know is that Randi really struggles with this new part of herself. She suffers from depressive episodes that are really triggered by the mercenary team she’s a part of that don’t want her there because she’s a dangerous liability. So not only is she struggling with this new part of herself, but she also has a hard time making friends and she’s kept as a prisoner at their mercenary facility.
But in book three, La Vida Loba, she starts to see some significant growth in how she views herself. This is a big turn for her and provides a much needed boost of confidence in their next mission which features Transylvania and vampires!
I’m a huge fan of the historical rivalry in paranormal books between vampires and werewolves, but Hill takes this to a different level where they are working together to take out something more dangerous. The Queen Vampire herself with the help of someone on the inside. But, as you might expect, things don’t quite go as planned and a new, more dangerous enemy arises.
Randi does however find solace in returning back to her family with her secret out in the open and finds herself a new werewolf friend. I’m excited to see where the next book goes with Randi’s adventure, so catch up with me now on this series if it sounds like something you might enjoy!

The monsters have broken out of containment, and Division X is compromised.
Randi Matheson is nearing her one-year anniversary of being a werewolf, but things aren’t getting any better. She still can’t control the beast, and unable to trust herself around her family, she grows more estranged from them. But her cure may be just around the corner. The vampire Jermiah offers her as much this coming Halloween, and she intends to kill his quarry for her chance at a normal life again. Only, Jerimiah’s mark is Regine, the queen of the damned… the ruler of all vampires.
To make matters worse, Randi’s younger brother, Mikey, is in college now, and some would say that’s more terrifying. Especially when his and thousands of students’ lives lie in the balance.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR

“Who doesn’t like a good story? Whether it be a movie, show, game, book, or a chat with friends, storytelling is an essential part of entertainment. I always wanted to be a storyteller, to entertain, and writing just always felt right to me. It also happens to be cheap.” – August Hill
After receiving an education at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, August Hill started writing Division X, a supernatural horror filled with dark humor, adventure, and sinister creatures that leap off the pages.
His love for all things spooky and scary was unleashed when he discovered Jurassic Park at four years old and the R. L. Stine Goosebumps collection in elementary school. He holds a huge appreciation for 80’s horror and is partial to fun, dark, and witty ensemble casting with younger heroes. Some of his favorite influences include The Lost Boys, Aliens, Gremlins, and An American Werewolf in London to name a few.
Hill’s knack for writing fiction emerged at an early age when he wrote stories for his own enjoyment. He is a collector of horror films and is a board game enthusiast. When not writing, he can be found walking trails with his dog, enjoying movie nights with friends, spending time playing video games, and camping in Maine.
