My Thoughts:
A Moment to Love is one of those stories that asks you to slow down and breathe with it—to take in the quieter moments of faith, the gentle stirrings of love, and the hard-won lessons of forgiveness. While the pacing is a bit unhurried, it mirrors the emotional rhythm of the characters’ journeys, allowing the reader to linger in the spaces where healing begins.
Dr. Carrie Vogel is a woman who’s had everything she worked for ripped away. Her groundbreaking research is stolen and credited to her ex-fiancé, leaving her not only heartbroken but stripped of her professional identity. Yet even through that devastation, Carrie’s strength comes from her faith—a quiet but resolute trust that God can redeem what feels lost. I really admired her sense of integrity and her ability to continue serving others even when her own path was uncertain.
Spencer Duval, on the other hand, carries the heavy burden of vengeance. His quest to find his father’s murderer has defined his life, and the mission to Cheyenne brings that obsession to a head. What I loved about his character arc is how his partnership with Carrie—what begins as an arranged marriage for the sake of his undercover work—slowly becomes something that challenges his heart. Their pretend marriage was such a thoughtful element; it gave them a safe space to see each other’s true character without pretense. Over time, it transforms from a practical arrangement to something deeply emotional and rooted in faith.
Tracie Peterson weaves forgiveness through every corner of this story. It’s not just about forgiving others, but about learning to forgive yourself for the things you can’t change and trusting that God can still write something beautiful from the broken pieces. Carrie and Spencer both have to confront what’s holding them back—her pain and betrayal, his anger and thirst for justice—and it’s only when they let go of those weights that love can fully take root.
There’s a comforting steadiness to Peterson’s writing here. The western setting adds a grounded beauty—dusty streets, mountain horizons, and the hum of frontier life serving as the perfect backdrop for a story about rebuilding and grace. By the end, A Moment to Love leaves you with a sense of peace. It’s not a whirlwind romance, but rather one that grows through shared faith and quiet courage—the kind that stays with you long after the final page.

Publisher’s Blurb:
A shared heart for justice pulls them together, but is their love strong enough to survive their trials?
Dr. Carrie Vogel’s heart is shattered when her groundbreaking medical research is stolen and falsely credited to her ex-fiancé. With years of diligent work lost, she grapples with the disastrous turn of her career and leans on her faith for strength. When she learns that her Pinkerton friend Spencer Duval is on a justice-driven mission to her hometown of Cheyenne, she agrees to an arranged marriage to provide him with a cover story. But merely pretending to be in love with Spencer becomes increasingly difficult the more time she spends with him.
Spencer is determined to apprehend the ruthless murderer who killed his father years ago, but his quest ignites unexpected emotions–both for Carrie and about the desire for revenge that has dominated his life. As the web of suspects tightens, their futures hang in the balance, and they must learn to trust God’s plan as unexpected love takes flight.

Final Thoughts:
A gentle western romance where faith and forgiveness lead two wounded hearts toward lasting love.
Would you agree to a fake—or arranged—marriage if it meant helping someone you cared about find justice?
