My Thoughts:
Sarah and Josh were the sweetest people! Josh is ex-military and suffers from PTSD, but his support dog, Percy, keeps him grounded and helps him when he needs it. Sarah is finding herself again now that her grown son is heading off to college. Filled with plenty of laughter, adorable emotions, and a kleptomaniac support dog this is a later-in-life romance you won’t want to miss. What I really loved about this one was it’s quiet focus on caring for ourselves. It’s so easy to put others’ needs before our own and then sometimes people look back and wonder why they didn’t do more for themselves.
Sarah is in this position, specifically, not that she regrets her life but now she has an opportunity to explore and see what the world has in store for her. That level of bravery is beautiful and I was so happy that she was rewarded with meeting a man that really compliments her down-to-earth style. They were perfectly paired, even if there is some slight miscommunications that trigger both of them to revert into themselves just a little.
Josh is super sweet and sensitive, that cinnamon-roll type of guy, which was incredibly endearing. Even more so when his dog is always “borrowing” people’s things and bringing them back to Josh as his own little treasure.
I have found a deeper appreciation for these midlife romances because the reminders that love is always possible, warm my heart!

Publisher’s Blurb:
One storm. One meet-cute. One unexpected chance at love.
SARAH
With my son off to college, I’m determined to figure out what the rest of my life looks like. My bucket list says travel more, try new things, and find adventure. It absolutely does not say meet a handsome writer with a klepto dog and get trapped in a storm together.
But between quiet beaches, a town where everyone knows you, and more than a few random mishaps, I start to see that freedom isn’t just leaving your old life behind. Sometimes it’s about deciding what’s worth staying for.
JOSH
I came to Tidewater Bay to write an article and leave. New town, new story, no roots. Simple. Then I meet Sarah, an intriguing woman who’s also searching for a future she can’t yet name. Now there’s a storm, close quarters, and the uneasy feeling that staying might be the best story yet.
Here’s what you’ll find:
- Second Chance
- Forced Proximity
- Found Family
- Opposites Attract
- Small Beach Town
- Later in Life Romcom
- Kisses Only
Grab Stuck on the Beach with You…and soak up a summer of sparks and romance.
