Happy Monday morning to all my readers. Today I wanted to introduce myself to all of you and give you a little background on who I am and how I’ve gotten to this point in my life.
Background
I’m 32 years old, married for 13 years and have three young children. My oldest son is 7, my middle son is 4 and my daughter is nearly two years old.
I had always wanted a family and I’m so thankful for the family I’m blessed to have with me. I grew up in a small family of only women and having the opportunity to be a parent and good wife has always been important to me.
My kids also have a love for books and I’ve been lucky to share that passion with them and watch them grow in their own love for books.
How I got into Writing
It was almost two years ago, right after having my daughter that I was looking for a new creative outlet. I had been making jewelry for a few years, but after having my daughter I was worn out on doing it and was looking for something new.
One day in my Instagram scrolling, I came across “Bookstagram” and immediately fell in love with the beauty of taking pictures of books and sharing discussions on all things books.
I started up a new Instagram for my book blogging, re-engaged my blog I had used in college for literature reviews, and the adventure started.
Books have always been a huge part of my life and I’ve always been a reader. But finding this new creative outlet, combined with my love for reading, reviewing and discussing books gave me a whole new outlook on life.
Future Plans
With reading and reviewing, comes many other opportunities as well. I’ve started a few novel writing projects and am looking for some opportunities to write articles for certain companies. My blog and bookstagram will continue for the unforeseen future because it gives me a creative outlet that means so much to me.
My boys are always sitting by me when I do my photography and my writing, which allows me to incorporate them into my work and also show them things they might be interested in doing as they grow up.
All in all this adventure means something important to me and helps me share something with my family that I otherwise might not have been able to do.
