Continuing on my holiday reading journey for 2020 and I must say, all these happy “feel-good” stories have really made my holiday this year. I don’t think I would be feeling as positive about the holiday season if it wasn’t for all the wonderful HEA I’ve read this year.
Now let’s talk about Just One Kiss by my amazing friend J. Saman, USA Today Bestselling Author and a beautiful friend, inside and out, just released this little holiday gem. With so many books already under her belt and this one was actually an unplanned surprise idea that she wrote in two weeks.
A fairly quick read at twenty chapters, you’ll be so caught up in the raw emotion between London and Miles that it can easily be read in a long afternoon. Paired with a glass of white wine or a warm cup of coffee, you’ll snuggle into a blanket and enjoy the ride of Just One Kiss.
London (she/her) and Miles (he/him) went to high school together, a long time ago, where she was the popular girl from a wealthy family and he was the quiet nerdy outcast that was never close with anyone. Both of them spent three years admiring the other but neither made a move. On the last day of school, Miles kissed London like his life depended on it and then disappeared.
Now, fate has brought them back together right before Christmas when London is on her way to her parent’s house in a terrible snow storm and crashes on the side of the road. Who is there to help, but the mighty Miles Ford.
It would be a little a strange running back into your high school crush after so many years of not knowing what happened to them. But that connection between them is still there and now they’re snowed in together at Miles’ house. Anything can happen.
Some neat things to know about these characters. London is a writer and Miles makes glass art at his cabin in the snowy woods. Their personalities compliment one another in such a manner that while one is bubbly and optimistic, the other is more rational and cautious.
Oh and Miles has this adorable rescue dog named Betsy and she loves to listen to Taylor Swift songs! Enter sexy lumberjack man blasting Taylor Swift in his pick truck! It’s a mental image you’ll love and it lends to his endearing ways. The characters are well-rounded and where they struggle or lack confidence, the other is always there to pick them up.
You will get your HEA in this one as well as some happily emotional tears. Or was that just me? I know I sniffled quite a lot there at the end, but you’ll have to read it to find out why.
