My Thoughts:

This is such a fun series filled with all the cozy mystery charms you could want and the sweetest romance between the main characters. Jonathan Darcy and Juliet Tilney are two young individuals with a penchant for solving murders. Which always seems to happen when everyone in their family is gathered together.

Jonathan’s family is having a gathering at his Aunt and Uncle’s home in Netherfield where everyone is staying for a few weeks. But when one of the guests turns up poisoned, they immediately call Jonathan to come and help solve the case. But he can’t do this without his favorite partner, Juliet Tilney.

These two are amazing investigators and quirky as well, which I adore so much. They are not like their peerage in their mannerisms or interests, which draws them together perfectly. Throughout this series they have also been dancing around their interest in one another and it finally reaches an even more exciting phase in this one!

But the author does such a wonderful job of laying out the cozy mystery vibes in this book, allowing for the events to unfold and the investigation to take center stage. Jonathan and Juliet never veer from their focus on solving the crimes and are always trying to think deeper about their observations and conversations with the guests.

A great adventure awaits for those that enjoy this kind of story where all the clues will point you in many directions and have you questioning everyone’s potential of being the culprit. But only Jonathan and Juliet can solve the mystery and even put themselves in danger’s way to achieve the confession needed to know exactly who is guilty!

I loved this feel good, cozy mystery that provided plenty of gentle romance as Jonathan and Juliet’s relationship deepens into something more as well as the fun of trying to figure out who might be the guilty party lurking in the house. No one is safe until they figure it out, and it was a wonderful surprise at the end!

Publisher’s Blurb:

The fifth book in New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray’s mystery series set in Jane Austen’s world finds Jonathan Darcy and Juliet Tilney thrown together again by a murder at stately Netherfield Park.

After a disastrous London Season and a (somewhat) successful investigation, Jonathan Darcy has recovered from the wound he received in his most recent investigations. But his parents aren’t over the shock, and insist that Jonathan must stop these dangerous adventures with Miss Juliet Tilney—particularly now that she is a young lady of ruined reputation.

Jonathan still hopes for some opportunity to be with her again, and then it comes—unfortunately, in the form of his uncle Charles Bingley’s brother-in-law, Mr. Hurst, being found murdered at Netherfield Park. His Aunt Jane is desperate for answers, and in the end, Jonathan’s family must ask Miss Tilney to Netherfield to help solve the mystery!

Juliet, still reeling from her ruination, is happy to be back in the thick of an investigation—and in the company of Jonathan. But the scheming Caroline Bingley Allerdyce and her daughter Priscilla feel the same, leaving the young pair to not only look for clues but also dodge their machinations. When Mr. Hurst proves to be only the first victim, casting a pall of danger—and worse, scandal—over the Bingleys’ household, Jonathan and Juliet are under fierce pressure to find the culprit—and perhaps even more momentously, to make a final choice between respectability…and love.
