What is Once Upon a Book Club?

Have you ever heard of the Once Upon a Book Club book box?

I’ve been getting these boxes for a few years now and I have to tell you how much I love them. It’s a very unique box that is nothing like any other box subscription I’ve gotten before.

Let me tell you about it! It’s a monthly subscription book box, there are also one-time boxes and special editions, that include a book and usually three gifts that are wrapped and marked with the page numbers they go with.

Wrapped gifts?? Why are they wrapped??

As you read the monthly book, you will eventually come across a page where a little post-it is placed at a point in the story and you are prompted to open the gift from your box that goes with that page. The gift will have something to do with that part of the story!

What types of boxes do they have?

You can subscribe to the monthly boxes and choose from the following kinds:

  • Adult boxes
  • Young Adult boxes
  • Middle Grade boxes

You can also purchase one-time boxes like the Bridgerton Series, Halloween Themed or Winter Collection among others! There is also a shop to purchase the gift items from the different boxes after their release month is over. If you have any questions at all, please leave a comment and I would be happy to help you out!

Melody of Madness Box

I just received the Melody of Madness box from December that includes the beautiful book The Lost Melody by Joanna Davidson Politano and was accompanied by three gifts and a book club kit that’s filled with special information on the book and discussion questions regarding the story.

About The Lost Melody

Note: The cover and book design you see in these photos is different and is actually a special edition created specifically for this one-time box!

When concert pianist Vivienne Mourdant’s father dies, he leaves to her the care of an adult ward she knew nothing about. The woman is supposedly a patient at Hurstwell Asylum. The woman’s portrait is shockingly familiar to Vivienne, so when the asylum claims she was never a patient there, Vivienne is compelled to discover what happened to the figure she remembers from childhood dreams.

The longer she lingers in the deep shadows and forgotten towers at Hurstwell, the fuzzier the line between sanity and madness becomes. She hears music no one else does, receives strange missives with rose petals between the pages, and untangles far more than is safe for her to know. But can she uncover the truth about the mysterious woman she seeks? And is there anyone at Hurstwell she can trust with her suspicions?
